Trained over 200 women in tailoring skills, strengthening livelihoods and economic independence.
Constructed permanent school blocks and WASH facilities in Rumbek North, replacing "under-tree" classes and ensuring safe, accessible learning environments for children, including those with disabilities.
Built police stations with separate cells for women, men, and children, ending harmful practices where detainees were chained or tied to trees, and ensuring facilities are accessible to persons with disabilities.
Supported community peace dialogues that fostered sustainable peace and security, ranking Lakes State as the second most peaceful state in South Sudan.
Implemented inclusive livelihood programs targeting the most vulnerable and crisis-affected populations, with persons with disabilities recognized as a cornerstone beneficiary group.
Advanced national advocacy efforts on the ratification of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPDs), amplifying the voices of marginalized communities.
Through these initiatives, DARD has demonstrated its capacity to deliver survivor-centered, trauma-informed, and inclusive projects that uphold human rights, empower women and persons with disabilities, and foster sustainable peace and development in Lakes State.
